June 2008 Race Report

The Race Awards Banquet at La Piñata Mexican Restaurant was a huge success. Thank you to Dave and Dee Moody for setting everything up. It was perfect! After a wonderful dinner and drinks, the awards were given.

For our own San Diego Ski Club Awards, the winners are:

Bobbie Frederick Memorial Trophy (Most improved Junior): Jack Lee
San Diego Open Men's (Most points): Jerry Stokely with 68 points
San Diego Open Women's (Most points): Erin Barber with 42 points
Stuart Fraser Memorial Men's (fastest time): Jerry Stokely with a 35.32
Stuart Fraser Memorial Women's (fastest time): Erin Barber with a 55.14
Unbound Award (Most prolific skier): Dave Moody
Bull and Bear Award (Most persistent skier): Dave Ellis

For the Alpine League, our club has seven class champions!

Congratulations to Erin Barber, Maren George, Art Grigg, Lynn Kramer, David Bowes, Dave Moody and Jerry Stokely. All are Class Champions! David Bowes received class champion in both Ski and Mono ski. Way to go!

Thank you to the rest of the team: Jack Lee, Bill Morlett, Chachy Shakeri, Dave Ellis, Jim White. What a great season. Thank you everyone for your participation and awesome successes.

Lastly, the Team has decided rather than keeping the trophies at home, the club is building a case for display up at the Chalet. This will be in place shortly. Thank you Dave Moody for helping with this project. The trophies will be on display at the Chalet to motivate and inspire all!

Thank you everyone that attended the Ceremony and showed your support for our awesome team. If you are not racing already, please consider it soon! Our team members would love some friendly competition.
